Soma MilligramsAshiqa Salvan has a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media, with a specialization in Advertising from Mumbai University in 2005. She also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management with a specialization in Marketing from International School of Business and Media, Bangalore in 2008. In 2010, she was working as an Account Executive in Ogilvy and Mather, Bangalore when she discovered her affinity for theatre and left her job to find her path in theatre. Since then, Ashiqa has performed in several theatre plays. To name a few, Ms. Meena, How To Skin A Giraffe and Under the Mangosteen Tree with Perch from Chennai, Trivial Disasters with Sandbox Collective from Bangalore and Lysistrata with Jagriti Theatre from Bangalore. Ashiqa has also managed the FACETS Young Choreographers International Residency as part of the Attakalari International Biennale 2012. In 2015, Ashiqa received the Inlaks Theatre Award to be trained in Adishakti and build on her performance craft. She is now a resident artist in Adishakti and continues to train here. She currently operates sound and projection for The Tenth Head and operates lights for Ganapati. She is also working with the rest of the team on Adishakti’s next production, Sita.
