Amit Ashar is a renouned photographer for many years and counting . He is based out of Mumbai. His most famous movie campaigns have been for Rang De Basanti, Kabul Express, Delhi 6,Khosla Ka Ghosla, Mukti Bhavan, Ankhon dekhi, Daasdev, Phas Gaye Re Obama amonst several others.His work also includes over 200 Print Ad Campaigns, to name a few , Being human fashions with Salman khan and Amy Jackson, Amazon fashions, status quo, Tigo, spykar ,LG with Abhishek Bachchan, Hercules cycles with Yuvraj Singh, Reynolds pens with Sachin Tendulkar, Sangam suitings with Virat Kohli, Reliance Finance. The campaign for Tigo also won the award for best photographed campaign in the African Nations and a short public service film for child abuse, called 1098, that he has shot also won the 3rd place in the Professional Photographer of the year contest from UK.
Also known to have framed many a celebrity faces for magazine covers, editorials and personal folios.
He has done a fair deal of work for the hospitality industry where he has photographed many a hotel and restaurant ie Waterstones, Gordon House, EATC, Havana for the Mars group chain.
He has shot the Gourmand Award winning food book by the culinary Diva, Maria Goretti Warsi , FROM MY KITHCHEN TO YOURS and is currently in the process of finishing another coffee table book on the legendary cinematographer Ashok Mehta.
His style is minimalistic and his themes are poignant. His eye has a childlike curiosity which loves to capture ‘The Phenomenal Magic of the Ordinary’ his ongoing personal body of work which is a unique and delightful way of seeing the everyday and ordinary around us.
